The men’s basketball team won a pivotal battle for 1st place in the red division of the Detroit Metro Athletic Conference on Thursday night as they erased a 16 point 1st half deficit against Michigan Math & Science in route to a 52-46 victory.
The win helped secure a home game and a berth in the DMAC final four for the young Lakers as they improved to 8-4 in the division.
Sophomore’s Jamari Jackson and Kelly McMurray led the way with 10 points each while junior Anthony Rogers scored 10 and pulled down a game high 13 rebounds.
The team will return to action on Tuesday as they host Manoogian Academy for the final league game of the season. Tip off is at 6:00 pm.
