Soccer Team Improving

The ATA Boys Varsity Soccer Team defeated Taylor Prep 9-6 Tuesday night.  Hussein “Chico” Al-Zayadi scored three goals, Christian Tavares had three goals and two assists, Anthony Garita scored his first two goals, and Raul Pallares scored his first goal.  Christian Mora was our Defensive MVP. Lakers Fall at Romulus

The ATA Boys Varsity Soccer Team lost 4-1 to Romulus High School Monday night.  Edgar Gonzalez had the only ATA goal, converting a penalty kick in the 65th minute. The boys play today at Taylor Prep High School; game time is 5:00.

Wayne County Championships

The Cross Country team competed at the 29 team Wayne County Championships on Saturday and finished 7th in Division 3. Junior Alonte Wincher led the Lakers  while Daniel Judd, Devonta Spencer, Tre’vion Stamps , Derand Love and Tavonna Hamilton all recorded Personal Records.

Lakers Get Revenge

The ATA Boys Varsity Soccer Team avenged an earlier season loss to Detroit Renaissance by beating the Phoenix 2-1 Friday night. The team played hard against Renaissance with Jason Varzaru scoring first in the 10th minute.  Jason Varzaru would score again in the first minutes of the second half to bring the lead to 2-0.  Renaissance

Middle School Girls Open Season With Victory

The Middle School Lady Lakers defeated Riverside West Academy 44 – 4 in the season opener on Thursday. Size and great team defense were the keys to success in the hard fought victory.
